Storage Facility Options for Family Moving, Students, and Business Owners!

What Are My Storage Facility Options?
When using our storage facility directory, one of your considerations will be what type of storage unit best suits your needs? Each facility may offer one or several of the following options:

Inside Storage:
Inside storage facilities are increasingly common in urban and suburban areas where real estate is at a premium. These are typically multi-level facilities that offer smaller to larger storage spaces depending on your needs. Well designed facilities will have a variety of amenities that make moving and accessing your items as easy as possible. Some of these amenities include, secure access to different floors or areas of the facility, keypad or access codes for after-hours access, elevators to easily move items to higher floors and dollies or carts available for your use. Inside storage facilities are mostly likely to be climate controlled, and the multi-floor design can mean that the rates are more economical as the facility takes up less real estate. Indoor facilities are also generally found closer throughout cities so that you’re likely to find a facility very conveniently located wherever you live. Inside storage facilities are probably the most secure with fully monitored access, security cameras and protection from the elements.

Outside Storage:
Outside storage facilities are commonly found in less urban areas or outside of city limits. These facilities typically include covered vehicle storage areas for RV’s, boats, cars or other recreational vehicles as well as enclosed storage units for household or business items. Outside storage facilities are fully secure including keypad access via secured gates as well as 24-hour security cameras. Many outdoor storage facilities offer a mix of open as well as climate controlled units, so be sure to inquire about your specific storage needs.

Drive-Up Storage:
Many storage customers consider drive-up storage units to be the most convenient because you are able to load items directly from your vehicle into your unit or back into your vehicle when retrieving your items. Generally located in less urban areas, some customers are willing to drive a bit further for the convenience of a drive-up unit especially if you are storing items that you do not need to access on a regular basis. Based on the location of these facilities, monthly rates can also be more affordable than more expensive urban locations. However, standard drive-up facilities don’t always offer climate controlled storage options. Some newer and more modern drive-up facilities do have climate controlled units, but you will need to research each facility to determine whether they have the right options for you. Drive-up storage facilities are fully secure with gated access and security cameras.

Vehicle Storage:
Some outdoor storage facilities are specifically designed and dedicated to vehicle storage including boats, RV’s, trailers, automobiles, classic cars and recreational vehicles. These facilities can offer site specific amenities that vehicle owners appreciate including electrical or disposal hook-ups for RV’s, storage for tools or other items that are required to maintain and service your stored vehicle as well as easy drive-up access to hitch up a vehicle to be towed. Vehicle storage can be either covered, uncovered or fully enclosed, so it’s important to research the options based on your needs to protect your vehicle.
